To the barn!

My bag arrived at 4am at Susan's place (thanks, Atlanta!). At least it's here!!

I woke up ridiculously early then went out for brunch with Barbara and Robert, and afterwards dropped me at Susan's. She took me to grocery shops and Lana and Ron's place, where I'm staying, then for a quick trip to the barn which is about 1.5-2 miles from Lana's house.

Back to Lana's for her to show me around, let me know about their plans for my time here, a few chores they'd like me to do, the house schedule, etc. They are away for a couple of days at the end of July so I'll 'housesit' and also drop them off at and collect them from the ferry.

I walked down to their lake, with a really cool little pergola/pavilion next to it. Then we were off to the barn to make up some of Lana's horse Chico's feeds and meet Sully [Peggy's newest arrival, a TB], Fonteyn (Trakehner x TB), Chico (Andalusian x Arab), and Bracken (QH). The last horse in this group, though he goes out into a different paddock, is Gruella (QH).

I am likely to end up in Oregon around the start of August for a few days, at a clinic/training session. I may also go to part of the CRT 103 course at the end of August, which my instructor [Trisha] will be here for: they'll have a large Kiwi contingent!

Definitely brain overload today and I have not done much. Peggy arrives home tomorrow night so Tuesday will be full on. Tomorrow I meet Karen and learn more about the barn.
